When more than one tooth is involved a variety of procedures can be used to achieve an esthetic result. Facings and or Crowns can be used to improve the shape, color, and to some degree the alignment of teeth. Bridges or implants can be used to replace missing teeth. The dentist has a wide array of treatment options. The dentist will explain all the options for the patient's particular problem, with the associated risks, advantages and disadvantages of each. Remember: what looks good and is satisfactory to one person may not be satisfactory to another. It is important for the patient and perhaps the spouse or a trusted friend to ask questions and be part of the decision on which method to use and what results can be expected. You can not assume that the dentist knows what you want or like. |
